I know I sure am. I'm trying to do some deer sculpture, and this is super motivating. Gorgeous work.

Aww awesome! If you need any tips you can ask me!

I definitely have all sorts of things to ask you. o-o The legs for example- how do you go about doing those? I've tried with wire down the center, but I always end up messing it up somehow, and making that wire show. I blame the thin little legs, but you seem to pull it off perfectly.

I'd also like to ask about what kind of paint you use, and how you apply it. I've been trying acrylic, but honestly it goes on so streaky.

I've worked out it's best to use relatively thick sculpting wire, and the trick with legs is to keep the wire as STRAIGHT as you can, only bending it at the joints.
I only flesh it out with foil at the shoulder/ butt where it's thickest, but even there only lightly flesh it out, and cover it and the bare wire of the legs with one layer of masking tape so that the sculpey sticks.

Also the technique, I put too much sculpey on and sort of, stroke and push the clay down the leg until I get the right shape, then remove the excess from the feet. If that makes any sense??

As for paint, I use regular acrylic. Some colours are really washy so you just have to do a lot of coats. I water it down a bit and don't load the brush too heavily. Though once I painted an almost pure white chatacter and just spraypainted the whole thing first, haha.
